In a surprising turn of events, the highly anticipated film "Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender" will bypass theaters and instead premiere exclusively on Paramount+, the streaming service from Paramount Pictures. Originally scheduled for a theatrical release on October 9, this film adaptation will now arrive on the streaming platform sometime this fall. Alongside this, viewers can look forward to a new animated series titled "Avatar: Seven Havens," which is also set to join the Paramount+ lineup. This development aligns with Paramount’s strategy to focus on delivering content primarily through streaming for the Earth-bending franchise. Currently, subscribers can enjoy four seasons of "The Legend of Korra," the original 2010 film "Avatar: The Last Airbender," and the classic Nickelodeon series, all available on Paramount+.

However, the absence of "Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender" from their theatrical schedule leaves Paramount with a rather thin lineup for 2026. The upcoming releases include "Primate" in January, followed by "Scream 7" in February, "Scary Movie 6" in June, "PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie" in August, "Street Fighter" in October, and wrapping up with "The Angry Birds 3" in December.
